A dynamic and innovative performer, Briana Gillet is a French-American trumpet player based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Passionate about interdisciplinary artistry, her aim is to create transformative performances that constantly change how audiences experience music and the arts. In an early manifestation of her interest, Briana played the role of project leader for a collaborative performance project that featured musicians, dancers, and original electronic compositions as a part of Shenandoah Conservatory’s ShenCo Lab, a Festival of Arts, Ideas & Exploration. Frequenting in the worlds of classical, contemporary, and electronic, Briana has collaborated with two Bozeman-based groups, Raison d’Etre, Mountain Time Arts, as well as NYC-based Alarm Will Sound as part of their collaborative performance residency with the Shenandoah Conservatory's new-music, EDGE ensemble.

During her time as an undergraduate student at Montana State University, Briana performed with the Bozeman Symphony, MSU Symphony Orchestra, and Bridger Brass Quintet. As a member of the Bridger Brass Quintet, she competed in the Northwest and National divisions of the MTNA Chamber Music Performance Competition. In 2019, the group had the pleasure of touring Chile with the MSU Symphony Orchestra and performed as guest artists at the International Women's Brass Conference as a part of the concert program for Athena Brass. Successfully combining her love of culture and travel with her passion for music, Briana has performed in concerts and festivals throughout the United States, Europe, and South America.

As a part of her doctoral studies at the University of Utah, Briana has expanded her interest in chamber music by performing with the university's graduate brass quintet, brass ensemble, and trumpet ensemble. Briana also performs with the University of Utah Wind Ensemble, and Utah Philharmonia.

Briana is currently a student of Dr. Peyden Shelton at the University of Utah, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Trumpet Performance. She was awarded her Master of Music degree in 2021 from Shenandoah Conservatory where she studied under Mary Elizabeth Bowden. In 2019, Briana earned her bachelor's degree from Montana State University, where she studied with Dr. Sarah Stoneback.
